Weekly Digest: Conflict
This week was all about looking beyond war and politics to create alternate sources of conflict within your world to supply the driving force for complex and compelling stories.
Conflict, Competition, and Challenge
Stories are driven by conflict; someone wants something to be different, and they work to change it. Whether they want to grow their own skills, win at a sporting event, or strike for change, our heroes and the people around them are all driven by conflict. And, sure, there are war and politics, too, if you want to be all generic and obvious about it.

Ask the Bard #24: Vibe = Mood + Tone
Q: What role does vibe play in worldbuilding and how do you define it (even to yourself)?
Next week, I’ll be examining architecture in worldbuilding! We’ll talk about how to create unique buildings, landmarks, and other constructions based on the environments and cultures in your fictional worlds. (If you want to get a head start, then begin looking at where people live in your world, what the weather is like there, and what materials they have available to them.)
